Learning to Play Piano
Mr. Alexander works with piano students Aavah (right) and Taylor (center) on two-hand technique in their sectional lesson.
Coordination in both hands takes time and discipline! Our young artists have been working diligently to master their craft so that they can play Bruno Mars’ “Treasure” with the rest of the ensemble.
These two pianists recently joined the Milbank Band’s rhythm section in the Fall. Here, Mr. Alexander helps them navigate through two-handed exercises meant to strengthen both the hands and the musical mind. Working as a section is an exciting and energetic way to learn the ensemble’s repertoire, hone musicality and technique, and foster a sense of belonging in the larger ensemble.
